Diverse Director DataSource (3D)

The President has signed legislation which implements the most sweeping reform of financial markets approved by Congress in 70 years. The Diverse Director DataSource - "3D" - will provide a new pool of talent. It will be a resource for shareowners, company nominating committees and executive search firms seeking skilled individuals who can bring a fresh perspective to a board room, advance a company's business strategy and help investors achieve long-term, risk-adjusted returns.

Creating the Datasource

  • CalPERS and CalSTRS developed the concept for the Diverse Director DataSource;
  • A broad alliance of experts have contributed to the design and development and will continue to oversee the implementation of the 3D;
  • The third party vendor owns, operates, and maintains the DataSource;
  • Candidates submit information to the Diverse Director DataSource.

Two groups have played important roles in developing the Diverse Director DataSource

  • The Alliance, a broad coalition of interested parties brought together to help build consensus and generate ideas around 3D;
  • The Advisory Panel, a team of leaders in the field who will guide the 3D project.

Joining & Using the DataSource

  • Self-nominate to the Diverse Director DataSource;
  • Potential candidates will be able to complete an online questionnaire and users will have access through GMI.
