 The library contains CalPERS' archived policy statement, speeches and commentary, and columns related to corporate governance. In addition, the library contains external resources that are designed for those with a passion for learning. Although CalPERS clearly believes that "good" governance adds value; that "good" governance equates to accountability; and that shareowners have a role within the governance officer-director-shareowner trilogy, our site is not limited to this single view. To CalPERS, corporate governance is an ever-evolving concept that requires the constant influx of new ideas. Through these libraries, we seek to offer an opportunity to explore differing perspectives and opinions. We firmly believe that intellectually honest debate is both healthy and necessary for an intangible concept - such as "corporate governance" - to continue to be recognized as viable and legitimate by all participants. Although the original documents may not be available due to copyright and technical limitations, CalPERS is pleased to offer Shareowner Forum users a guide to other resources.
